At least five participants of the essay writing contest to win a Malahide home have received partial refunds of their entry fees.
All confirmed refunds were money orders for $92 and were received through the regular mail with what appeared to be a form letter thanking the entrants for participating in the contest.
The letter ended with the names of the couple who own the home and started the contest, Calvin and Diana Brydges.
The entrants a reporter spoke to said their copies of the letter were not hand signed.
