On Tuesday, December 15, St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital announced that it would move itself into the “Red-Control” colour code and was cancelling general visits to patients, given the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the community.
Those considered “essential caregivers” would still be allowed into the hospital, STEGH noted.
