Reversing course on Lyons sidewalks

Malahide councillors at a meeting Thursday, Feb. 5, rescinded an October resolution to replace Lyons sidewalks this year at an estimated cost of $32,000 paid from their 2015 budget.

But instead of reducing the scope of or even eliminating the work, as had seemed councillors’ intent following a budget session Monday, Feb. 2, they’re now talking about following through on their original promise, albeit somehow spreading the cost over this year and next.
