Malahide Township announced Monday, Feb. 23, that it had hired Brent Smith as its new director of fire and emergency services.
He replaces Paul Groeneveld, who has accepted a job in Norwich.
Mr. Smith is a fire prevention inspection officer with the City of London, and a volunteer with Central Elgin Fire Services.
His appointment takes effect on March 16.
