SDPS also took on host Straffordville in a game. The elementary school league is aimed at developing skills and encouraging youths to have fun playing sports.

Nato Dube sped around a turn as the “On the Edge” speed skating program at East Elgin Community Complex wrapped up its season with races and awards, Thursday, April 3. This year 22 skaters signed up for the 12 weeks of lessons and races. This was the eighth year speed skating has been offered at the complex.

Belmont Minor Hockey’s Peewee Rep team defeated host Mariposa 5-1 on Saturday, March 29, to win the Ontario Minor Hockey Association C championship for this season. Belmont lost the first away game of the playoff series, and tied the second before taking a pair of home games last weekend.
