BAD (Belmont-Aylmer-Dorchester) Girls Peewee C players celebrated a 2-1 win over Waterloo Ravens at East Elgin Community Complex, Friday, Jan. 31. The BAD Girls league is hosting a weekend tournament for teams from across Southwestern Ontario. Games are also being played in Dorchester and Belmont.

Devon Catt of East Elgin Secondary School recovered the ball rushed the London Montcalm net during the final of a Senior boys basketball tournament at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in St. Thomas, Saturday night. EESS defeated London Laurier 45-41 and host St. Joe’s 42-29 before losing 71-51 to Montcalm in the championship game.

Lorena Gisbrecht performed hip hop to “Likea Cholo” by Down during a rehearsal Monday, Jan. 13, for recitals for the dance program at East Elgin Secondary School, Wednesday, Jan. 15, and Thursday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. She’s one of 40 students in the recitals. Kelsi Sheils of host BAD (Belmont-Aylmer-Dorchester) Girls Bantam C hockey team rushed the puck down the ice at East Elgin Community Complex during a game against Kent County, Saturday, Dec. 4. Brooke Weller and Katie Wilson each scored for the BAD Girls as the two teams fought to a 2-2 tie.

Elora Neufeld of East Elgin Secondary School swam the women’s 50-metre breaststroke during an invitational meet hosted by London District Catholic School Board in St. Thomas, Friday, Dec. 13. She was one of 43 EESS swimmers at the event.
